The days go restless, the nights sleepless.
I seek for you around but fail to guess,
My heart skipped a beat or two.
But my anxious eyes still have no clue….
The wind goes wild and rough on my face.
Autumn leaves come down falling apace.
All the birds have gone past long before.
They will not come to the nests for sure.
When the rays of hope turn to despair,
and the night of sadness prevailing everywhere.
The heart melts down my eyes through,
How much I miss you; I can’t tell you..!!
Gazing on to the sky, I caught a shooting star
I thought of you being so so far
Down, it calms; at a whispering sound.
“Your love will soon be coming around”

Did you know that you are Spirit that lives in flesh?
If you follow the flesh, and simply follow the humanity you feel, it is risky.
For the human you are seated within is proud and always wanting.
The human never stops needing.
It never gives up on its pleasures. The human you are in is truly ‘only human’.
Yet, the spirit that you are has great control.
It possesses self discipline. It is ruled by conscience.
It knows morale and it is eternal. The spirit you are will continue after time.
The spirit you are can step over the human and become superhuman, supernatural!
Be the spirit, not the flesh.

So he thought to have a glance.
Just a glance of an artwork she’d posted
To feast his itching eyes
In reading such bold poetic lines.
A little touch here and there
He thought to his little self.
A little touch on this poem
Could do much to really help.
His words carried clouds of weight
With pure intentions and without a bait
Her creative instincts were ignited
And she set off to do some work
The page was duly updated
And the laughter was everywhere smeared
An expression of a little thought
Of an idea conceived,
Coupled with a positive mindset of a poet
That made such a dream come alive…
So dream and think and share
And don’t be scared to be here
The future is but an idea
Of an Opinion to be shared.~

Your love is just there so you can get a good sleep at night.
It tastes of grease.
It does not feel like home, it feels like faux pas.
From your manipulation i learnt resistance.
Birthdays are a blessing.
For they point us towards realizing those ones we adore.
They make us stop in time to appreciate the wonders of being created for a purpose.
For at one moment God said let there be Sandy, and then there was.
Happy birthday to me! I am growing cooler! 😉
The anime ‘Jormungand’ was wild!

Have you laughed? I mean really truly laughed.
You know the type that starts from your feet making your toes curl. That one that travels up your legs making them shake like a leaf in the wind.
That laughter that boils up in your belly like steam in an enclosed space looking for a way out. That one that literally causes you pain until you open your throat and let it all out and open.
That type of laughter that bursts out like a gush of wind producing a sound which for that moment in time brings with it an amnesia of all the things causing you pain and worry.
So tell me. Have you ever truly laughed?
“People do not resist change because they do not like it.
We love change, we get new haircuts every now and then, we change our clothes daily and we are always eager to try the newest restaurant in town.
People resist change because they don’t understand it.
It is paramount that we learn to embrace change because that is the very essence of learning. Without learning, we stagnate only for the ever changing world to catch up with us and force us to change; usually under much less favorable circumstances.
Take the steps to embrace change and avoid being forced to change as soon as what you know is no more.”

Question: Will you say it is a boy or a girl?
“Never fail to appreciate the small positive changes and motions you see in your life as the days go by.
Remember that these tiny changes are like little drops in the water called life which in time, slowly but surely forms a mighty ocean of great potential, beauty, and joy.”
~ By Sandra C. Obiora
“The world is balanced. All things have an Order.
Another may naturally have five of the things you wish you also had. Wealth, status, beauty, friends, intelligence…
However, you may hold a thousand other things and potentials that they pray dearly for.
To each his own, and his own is enough for him to fulfill destiny.
Never get caught in the web of petty comparisons.
All you need in life has already been deposited within you.”

Question for today: Do you compare yourself with others? why or why not? ~ You are welcome to share your ideas with me 🙂
“Going up and down staircases is metaphorical for life. For descending and spiralling down in failure and sin is easier and a far cry from the difficulty of climbing up to the zenith. Taking one difficult and mostly agonizing step at a time is the battle.
Now, if on the way up we choose to hang on to, or carry with us baggage, we must be ready to spend a while on the way up, or handle the mediocrity that comes with neither going downwards or heading upwards.”

Anew!
That is the time to come.
No more incredulity.
For now, love will be all around taking shape.
My soul prays for rosiness on her face.
I am in love with her forever.
Rebirth!
This is where it all begins
A loving heart;
Flourishing with warm passion.
The same heart that was afraid of losing.
Now love is coursing through and healing.
Pardoned!
Hopeful for a fellowship that lasts.
It is always good to expect in time.
Love always comes when I want it enough.
My mind had it all wrong.
Love wanted to say something to me in her own words.
Beautifully reborn!
Come, let us sit and count the stars.
Love shielding us in the night.
Love defending us in the day.
All that and many more will our days be.
Certain is her love for me, and mine for her!

“When you decide to fight against the wind, to kick against the thorns, to swim against the waves, or tell the thunder to be silent, you fight a lost battle.
You simply need to read the waves, trace your fingers along the thorns, embrace the joyous assault of the wind, and listen to the many words of the thunder.
For only in this manner can you realize the contradictory beauty of life. The true essence of our different realities.”

“Poetry is a game for that mind that loves to play.”
~Sandra C. Obiora
*Note: This poem has been published with the New York Public Library Zine 2017
It begins as a creeping thought. Like an itch.
Easy to ignore, difficult to locate.
It graduates into an illness, and soon your mind is stuck on replay.
Like a swarm of butterflies with needles in their mouths.
You tell yourself that you can do without her, that you are a strong man.
You recount the many battles you have won in times past,
And the many wars you have fought against your flesh.
You tell yourself that the flash of her smile in your mind means nothing.
That her beautiful eyes are not a recurring statement in your heart.
You lay in bed with your eyes closed. Rejecting those lips that refuse to cease.
Your hands itch to hold onto something. Something else.
Your nose bleeds from the force of your own denial,
And soon your hands are shaking, and your teeth clattering from this winter of your creation.
Oh brave one, just indulge this one time.
Take that bold step you have taken a thousand times already.
Grab onto that hand you always wish to hold.
Kiss that face you yearn to always see.
Breathe in that scent you hope will never end.
Gain back your life you thought was nearly over.
For you may have been dying from a terrible disease known as missing another human.
~ By Sandra Chukwudumebi Obiora
“If attaining a bright and successful future required just one full day of focus and purposefulness, everyone would be wildly successful.
However, the sad truth is that success requires and involves multiple, sometimes miserable moments of little yet correct choices.
Success is really just the sum of usually small but mighty decisions made and then executed.”
~ Sandra C. Obiora
“Each time winter comes, we swear it is the coldest we have ever felt. Each time summer arrives, we confess it is the worst yet. Each morning our alarm rings, we are sure it is the loudest ever. Each time life hits, we assume we are dying.
Perhaps we humans are far more naturally dramatic creatures than we give ourselves credit for.”
~ Sandra C. Obiora
“At some point, we come to recognize that adulthood is not about the freedom to do and undo as we please. Rather, adulthood is a call to realization.
Realizing that your decisions now can affect a hundred generations ahead of you. Realizing that your habits now can seep into your blood, and spread across your generational bloodline like wild fire.”
~ Sandra C. Obiora
“I am like a moth to the flame of a beautiful soul.
A bee to the scent of a flowering heart.
A predator to the prey of negativity
A David to the Goliath of helplessness.
A Paul to the ministry of repentance.
A triumphant student to the lessons of life.
Water to the wilderness of the dying mind.”
