A Person of My People

Reflections from Summer 2018. A piece by Sandra C. Bamisile ©

Being Nigerian in Nigeria is something nearly profound. There is a comfort that creeps over my skin. It is almost suffocating how magnificent it feels to be your own person among your own people. Pelayo

It is my birthday today. Maybe no one will remember me.

Yet I am happy within and so thankful to God for the life He has given me.

I know life is not easy and it shouldn’t always be. It may test me, judge me, but may lead me to several results.

One day has value. One hour has much more than that. One minute is even better, and each second given to reading this is perhaps the most valuable gift to me.

So give value to life now, you can change it or it may change you.
